Mazda officially released today the refreshed 2011 Mazda6 Atenza, the Japanese market version of the Mazda6, that received a subtle facelift. The 2011 Mazda6 Atenza Facelift features a couple of styling upgrades, chassis tweaks and a new 2.0L four cylinder engine with direct injection.
At the exterior level, the car received a redesigned front bumper with bigger air inlets on the corners, a five point front grille, revised tail lamps and a new set of 17 or 18″ alloy wheels. The car’s interior received some equipment upgrades and a glossy, piano black finish.
The new Mazda6 Atenza received an all new 2.0L DISI gasoline engine with direct injection that is also used on the new Mazda5 MPV that is going to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Mazda might bring a similar facelift of the Mazda6 for the European and North American markets later this year.
