ABT Volkswagen Golf GTD 1

The German tuning company ABT has released today their latest tuning project based on a new Volkswagen Golf GTD. The 2009 Golf GTD received a new aerodynamic kit which includes a new front spoiler, front grille, side skirts, a rear spoiler and a rear apron set that make it look sportier. Other styling upgrades made by the guys from ABT were installing  AR and BR wheels sized 18″ and 19″ which are equipped with high performance tires and also installing a new ABT 4-pipe rear muffler.

The ABT Volkswagen Golf GTD also received a couple of upgrades under the hood and the car’s 2.0L diesel engine could deliver 190 HP and 390 Nm of torque, 20 HP more than the stock version of the car. After the car’s power was slightly boosted, this modified Golf GTD can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 230 km/h.

The guys from ABT also improved the car’s handling and they installed new ABT suspension springs which lowered the car’s centre of gravity and the ride height.
