Aston Martin 47
So what makes the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante stand out? The stunningly beautiful new sports car offers the open top driving experience in GT-class sports car and 100 years of Aston Martin history. Simply put, it is the most luxuriously beautiful GT-class sports car.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante designers took their inspiration from the Volante’s coupe cousin, the Vanquish. So imagine the beauty of a luxury car and the speed of a sports car.
The Volante boasts a first from Aston Martin’s 100-year history. It is the first model to have a fully carbon-fiber outer skin, the stiffest body structure ever designed by the engineering team at Gaydon, Warwickshire, England, and also the fastest retractable roof that only takes 14 seconds to fold.
Dubbed as the DB9 by its designers (DB for David Brown, former owner of Aston Martin) namely Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker, the Volante is the successor of the DB7 model. It is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine, the same AM11 that powers its cousin, the Aston Martin Vanquish. With this engine, the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 4.7 seconds and can go to 295 km/h at top speed.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante‘s chassis is made of aluminum composite for maximum strength and lighter weight, a main feature of its Vertical-Horizontal (VH) architecture. This architecture provides rigidity and employs the latest in aerospace bonding technology. This rigid structure also provides the ideal foundation to mount the suspensions which in effect results to the car’s dynamic performance.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is equipped with a 1000W Bang and Olufsen BeoSound system which automatically adjusts sound intensity when the roof opens or closes. Of course if you don’t want this you can settle for the basic Dolby ProLogic sound system.
The interior can be styled in countless ways but the generic leather and walnut wood finish are the basic design. It can also come in leather with handcrafted design, the choice of which is according to the customer’s taste. The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is the ultimate convertible with a customizable design. The center stack is intuitive and user friendly with the ECU engine start button and gear selection buttons made of glass. The switch gear uses capacitive touch buttons and the first ever to use touch screen technology called haptic feedback commonly used by smart phones in a car. It also has the customary satnav and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante’s boot is 50% larger than its predecessor. The exterior skin is made mostly of aluminum. The windscreen is in full height and meets with the fabric roof for seamless transition. A few improvements with its exteriors include an enlarged recessed headlight cluster using xenon light bulbs and LED, LED rear lights with lenses and a rear spoiler with lid.
The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante received positive responses from most critics most of them praising the interior and exterior design. The car would rank poorly when compared to other more expensive toys such as Porsche’s 918 or MacLaren’s P1. Although it ranked poorly, most critics would still go for the Volante, by personal choice. Although critics are positive about its interior some holds the cargo space as rather small.
To mark the start of Aston Martin’s second centenary, they have given life to a new masterpiece that is the Aston Martin Vanquish V12. Being one of the world’s most iconic brands in the automotive industry, this company still keeps its word when it comes to delivering topnotch engineering to offer its consumers the best cars that combine high-end performance and luxury.

Aston Martin managed once again to surprise its fans by creating its smallest model with the largest engine that they ever used and they managed to reveal the V12 Vantage in 2007. Now we know why Aston informed its dealers not to take any more orders on the two seat pocket rocket and we must say that they had a very good reason.
After presenting a couple of teasers in order to keep us interested, they officially unveiled their new V12 Vantage S which is a revolutionary car that packs the latest version of Aston’s ubiquitous 6.0 liter V12, the same engine that their used for their new Vanquish.
The car has 565 horsepower which is definitely a significant bump from the previous version which only had 510hp. When it comes to its transmission we must say that their new seven speed sequential one makes this car even more wonderful and faster.
The best thing about this transmission is that it cuts off 25 kg from the car’s curb weight. Vantage S also has three stage adaptive damping, a sport mode that can tighten up throttle response, shifting times and even a new steering system.
The exterior of the car is made of carbon fiber and it is inspired by the CC100 Speedster concept which is a very elegant vehicle. The black roof and the ten spoke alloys are improving even more this car’s aspect.

It is well known that the Dubai Police Force have had, in time, ones of the most exclusive cars in the world. Do you remember the Lamborghini Aventador and the Ferrari FF that they owned? What about the Camaro SS and the Bentley Continental GT? They last acquisition was a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG and now their collection has another amazing car: the Aston Martin One-77.
This is definitely an outstanding car which costs $1.8 million. This is their last choice and it seems it is the most likely to receive the dark green and white livery of the Dubai Police. One thing is for sure, The Dubai Police is not wasting time being modest at all.
The car seems pretty amazing when it comes to its features as well. The engine is a very powerful one, to be more specific – 750-horsepower 7.3 liter V12. This way the police are going to be able to move faster and they are going to improve the city’s image. Not to mention the top speed which is definitely bigger than any laws allow.
When it comes to other features that this car has we must not forget to mention the DB9’s 6 speed automated manual transmission and the height adjustable pushrod suspension which make it even faster and stronger. It seems the perfect car for some policemen.
Taking into consideration the fact that we’ve mentioned the top speed before, it is time to surprise you by offering you some concrete data. This car can reach to 350 km/h in 3.5 seconds. This is extremely useful if you are following a criminal or other villain.
Multimatic has done an amazing job building source of the carbon chassis and the suspension system. When it comes to the car’s weight it is around 1,630 kg while the CO2 emissions are rated at 572 g/km.
We do not know for sure if such a car is definitely vital for The Police Department but we cannot stop admiring their fine tastes and elegance. The police image is going to be improved and it is obvious that such a car can offer you a lot of power without having to do anything else to impress.
Aston Martin One-77 is one of the most powerful and beautiful cars in the world and The Dubai Police should feel extremely lucky for affording such an impressing vehicle.
It seems that Aston Martin has recovered quite quickly after its birthday party, hence the British automaker is already busy presenting the new Rapide S. The model features a revised exterior design as well as a significant power hike.
The “S” moniker given to the attractive four-door coupe, matches what’s trapped under the hood as the naturally-aspirated V12 5.9-liter engine now generates 558 HP – 410 kW, which is an 81 HP – 59 kW increase over the pre-facelift variant. The torque is also up from 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) to 620 Nm (457 lb-ft).
Now, the 2013 Rapide S sprints from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds, which is basically 0.3 seconds faster than before. Its top speed has also increased from 302.5 km/h (188 mph) to 305.7 km/h (190 mph).
Even though it has an extra ring to it, the Rapide S is now 0.9 mpg UK more efficient as it can return 19.9 mpg UK (16.5 mpg US or 14.1 liters / 100 km), while CO2 emissions have been reduced from 355 g/km to 332 g/km.
On the design side, the new Rapide features a revised front grille and a rear lip spoiler. Optionally available is a Carbon Exterior Pack which includes carbon fiber-made front splitter, rear lamp infills, rear diffuser and exterior mirror housings.
The interior of the ride received a new piano black trim and optional red & black Duotone leather upholstery. With the rear seats folded flat, the Rapide offers a load volume of almost 900 liters. Among the optional features we should mention a twin-screen rear seat entertainment system and a reversing camera.
There’s no word on the price tag for the new ride, but it should remain close to the one on the outgoing model. The 2013 Aston Martin Rapide S will hit the dealer shops next month.

Aston Martin has recently revealed the Centenary Edition Vanquish which celebrates 100 years since the company was founded. Back in 1913, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford established Bamford & Martin Ltd. which was renamed to Aston Martin a year later after a series of successful runs at the Aston Clinton Hillclimb event near Aston Clinton in Buckinghamshire, England by Lionel Martin.
Limited to only 100 units, the Vanquish pictured here features a bespoke graduated paint finish and solid sterling silver Aston Martin wing badges with “trans flux” enamel inlay. Notably, the British automaker says that the paint process takes around 68 hours which is basically an 18-hour increase compared to regular paints.
The interior of the ride has been fitted with Deep Soft black leather upholstery that until now was available only in the One-77 supercar. It features special silver thread embroidery of the company’s wings in the head rests and comes with contrasting stitching, along with individually numbered solid sterling silver sill plaques.
Each Centenary Edition model will come with a unique presentation box containing a number of exclusive gifts to mark the first 100 years of the company. These include two glass keys, two bespoke key pouches made from leather matching the car’s interior trim, solid silver cufflinks featuring the Aston Martin script, solid silver Rollerball pen and high quality Bang & Olufsen headphones.
Aston Martin’s Centenary Edition package is also available on the V8 Vantage, DB9 and Rapide.

One hundred years of experience in the automotive industry is literally the milestone for excellence. Few companies have lasted long enough to reach this milestone, but Aston Martin is about to join this exclusive club. Nearly a century ago, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded a company named Bamford & Martin. It was eventually renamed to Aston Martin to acknowledge Bamford’s success at the Aston Clinton Hillclimb where the company raced their first cars.
One hundred years later, Aston Martin celebrates this occasion with the showcasing of a very special vehicle. The company’s oldest surviving model – a 1921 A3 prototype. The 90 year-old vehicle will appear next to a brand new Vanquish model, at the brand’s original headquarters in Chelsea on January 15th. Furthermore, Aston Martin will also unveil a commemorative plaque and host a special event in London where actor Sir John Standing will tell attendees about Aston Martin’s early days in Lionel Martin’s own words.
The celebrations will not end here though, as later in July, the British brand will celebrate Centenary Week which includes a concours event and an open house at their Gaydon headquarters. Aston Martin will also host a number of “Centenary drives” which will include everything from James Bond-inspired sightseeing to a rally through six European countries.

Even though each Aston Martin has a price tag that could make a grown man cry, don’t imagine that the company that builds them is generating big bucks. In fact, earlier this its largest shareholder Investment Dar, went public on its intentions to sell the British brand. Luckily for Aston Martin, a new deal promises to cover the capital it needs to keep producing Bond’s car. This new deal involves a 37.5% stake of Aston Martin which was bought by the Italian private equity firm Investindustrial for $240 million.
If you’re wondering, Investindustrial already owns the majority stake of Ducati since 2005 and recently it has sold it to Audi for over a billion – roughly three times what it was said to have costed in the first place.
The good thing is that Investindustrial wants to invest an additional $800 million into Aston’s R&D budget, which is sure to help the company step-up the technologies used in building the cars. Another good thing is that the Italian equity firm has apparently brokered a closer collaboration with Mercedes AMG so we might end up seeing some German power under the Aston’s bonnet.
As Aston Martin’s chairman, Mr. David Richards declared “Investindustrial’s new investment reflects and sustains the unique position of Aston Martin within the industry. With this partnership and the continued commitment of The Investment Dar, we look forward to working with our shareholders as we realise our vision and exciting future plans.”
