The new Hyundai Tucson ix was officially launched for the Korean market yesterday and the new version is based on the ix-Onic concept that was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show a couple of months ago. The compact SUV will come with a 2.0L Theta II gasoline engine that can develop 166 HP and it’s going to be connected to a new 6-speed transmission. This version will have only front-wheel drive.
Hyundai could also equip the car with a 2.0L “R” engine that offers 184 HP and could have front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Hyundai announced in their press release that the Tucson name will be used only for the Korean market and in Europe this car will be called ix 35.
Further details about the ix 35 model will be announced in the first days of the Frankfurt Motor Show.
