Ford’s 850HP Mustang Mach40 is heading to SEMA

November 1, 2012, By Alexander Eckhart

Ford has recently unveiled a series of modified Mustangs for this week’s SEMA 2012 show, but up until now, it hasn’t mentioned a word about this 850 HP Mustang Mach40. Built in collaboration with Eckert’s Rod Shop, this mid-engined Mustang has been fitted with the body of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and the powertrain of a GT40. Under the bonnet, the Mach40 is motivated by a 5.4-liter engine fitted with a supercharger and designed to run a flex-fuel system. To say the least, this is not your friendly neighbourthood 69 Mustang.

With a staggering 850 HP at the wheel, and hundreds of man hours put into customizing the body and suspension, the project is sure to break some necks in Vegas. Check out the pictures in the gallery for more details.
