As soon as the two new BMW SUVs based on the M-series have been delivered to their first customers, G-Power started to work on an upgrade package for these cars. The German tuners from G-Power released today an entire refining kit for the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M which is derived from the wide body kit Typhoon.
The upgrade program includes a new aerodynamics package entirely made of full carbon which consists of a new front skirt with striking air inlets that makes the BMW M SUVs look more aggressive and also reduces the aerodynamic lifting forces at the front axles. The aero kit continues with a G-Power Typhoon bonnet made of Kevlar hybrid or full carbon with improved air removal from both turbochargers.
The styling package also includes full carbon addons for the serial side skirts and the rear side of the cars will feature a full carbon diffuser with integrated 4×100 mm end pipes and G-Power logos. The car tuners also offer a full stainless steel end muffler which gives the car a typical G-Power sound. The BMW X6 M could also receive a rear spoiler which reduces the downforce at the rear axle and comes with an integrated rear diffuser.
The upgrade packages also come with one-part G-Power Silverstone Edition aluminum wheels sized 11×23″ and 12×23″ for the X5 M and three-part G-Power RS forged wheels in the same sizes for the X6 M wrapped in high performance tires from Michelin for optimal traction and handling. The car’s handling was also improved by installing a G-Power sports spring set and a lowering kit which reduces the ride height by 30mm.
Thanks to enlarged air inlets and air outlets in the spoiler and bonnet, the car’s engineĀ cooling was improved and this leads to a performance increase by 15%. The guys from G-Power also changed the engine characteristics and removed the V-max limitation and now the cars got 45 additional HP and their power raises to 600 HP at 6,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
With all this power under the hood, the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time is just 4.5 seconds and the car’s top speed is more than 300 km/h. G-Power also customized the car’s interior with exclusive accessories like a sports steering wheel, a unique speedometer with G-Power design and carbon covers for the central console, dashboard and side linings.
