Lamborghini has been always focused on building incredibly fast supercars with a lot of power under the hood but from now on the Italian supercar maker decided to shift their focus from more power to less weight since more power equals more fuel consumption and emissions.

They decided around 700 HP is enough and they are going to make their new cars faster by reducing the car’s weight with lightweight materials. This move will push towards ever quicker acceleration and it will involve using composite materials in the right place.

Aluminum will be probably used in place of heavier steel and with improved aerodynamics and start/stop technology the future Lambos might be really fuel efficient and will have low carbon emissions. Lamborghini might also make a car with a full hybrid powertrain but that is more likely to come at the tail end of the decade.
