Mercedes Benz is planning to produce an electric version of the Mercedes SLS AMG eDrive that’s going to be available on the market in 2012. The car is currently under development and we don’t have too many details about it at the moment but apparently, it will feature a powertrain similar to the one used by the new Audi eTron with four electric motors, one for each wheel.
The electric Mercedes SLS AMG eDrive will develop around 530 HP and 880 Nm of torque making it one of the most powerful electric cars in the world. The car will have performances close to the petrol model and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 300 km/h.
The 2010 Mercedes SLS AMG eDrive will be available on the market almost in the same period when the electric Audi will go on sale and these cars will probably compete on the same market segment.
