Well, MINI has decided to celebrate its Dakar Rally win by introducing a special John Cooper Works Countryman. The ride is also known as “The Mini John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4 Dakar Winner 2013 special edition”. Let that sink in for a minute…
The ride showcases a matte black exterior with green sport stripes and “MINI ALL4 Racing” lettering aside the obvious Dakar logos. It sits on a brand new set of 19-inch alloy wheels that work perfectly with the vehicle’s ALL4 all-wheel drive system.
Under the bonnet, the special edition model, much like the standard version, is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates no less than 218 HP – 160 kW and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. All this power helps the ride sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 7.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 Km/h.
THe interior cabin packs the same styling theme as the exterior as it features green contrast stitching and green embroidered headrests. The model also has an individually-numbered plaque and green / black trim.
Notably, the Mini Countryman Special Edition will be available exclusively in France in just eleven units built as a tribute to Stéphane Peterhansel’s eleven Dakar Rally wins.

MINI has officially presented the 2013 Paceman John Cooper Works (JCW). Following a series of leaks and speculations, the vehicle showcases a more aggressive body kit and standard 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inch optional).
Under the bonnet, it features the same 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that outputs 214 HP – 160 kW and 280 Nm or 300 Nm with overboost. The Mini Paceman JC can do the 0 to 100km/h sprint (0 to 62mph) in 6.9 seconds, regardless if it has the standard 6-speed manual or the optional 6-speed automatic transmission. The difference between the manual transmission and the automatic one is that the first can push the vehicle to a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph) while with the other one to 223 km/h (139 mph).
The 2013 MINI has also been fitted with a sport chassis and as a result the car’s height has been lowered by 10mm. Other upgrades include larger anti-roll bars along with optimized spring and damper rates.
Notably, MINI’s engineers installed a Sport button on the center console that when activated it sharpens the throttle response, stiffens up the steering and modifies the exhaust note. Also, for the models with the automatic gearbox it will shorten the shift times.
Furthermore, in normal driving conditions, the new AWD system sends 50% of the power to the rear wheels via an electromagnetic center differential, while in extreme conditions everything is sent to the rear axle.
The vehicle is scheduled to make its public debut next month at the Detroit Motor Show and it will hit the UK showrooms in mid-March. The price tag on the new Mini revolves around 29,535 GBP in Europe.
The Mini Countryman may have lost its factory backing for the WRC but the British brand is still challenging rallies like Dakar with the X-Raid team behind the wheel. As a reminder, X-Raid won last year’s Dakar Rally by taking an overall first place and three more of its entries finishing in the top ten. As a result, the Countryman will be at it again on January 5th, as the race goes over 5,000 miles of desert through Peru, Argentina and Chile.
The vehicles competing in this grueling race are known to be heavily modified, unlike this year’s Mini Countryman that was outfitted with parts from the Original Mini Accessories catalog. Aside from the matte black finish with red roof and stripes and Monster Energy logos, the Countryman support vehicle has been equipped with a four-piece body kit and silver-colored lower body cladding on the underside of the front apron, rear apron and side skirts.
These Mini enhancements are just some of the accessories the British brand offers to its buyers, along with various wheel and tire options, mud flaps, auxiliary lighting and more. Good luck X-Raid! You’ll need it!
MINI hatchback cars are very popular in UK and all over Europe. The reason? MINI are adept to changing customer trends and needs. Affordable price, innovative features, practical approach and efficient performance are some of the main features that make sure these small hatchback cars stay ahead of their competitors. Small cars need to be built with world class technologies to offer the highest performance and comfort.
MINI cars are engineered using cutting edge technologies to suit the dynamic needs of everyone. Here are some of the striking features of hatchback cars from MINI.
The first and foremost reason for choosing from MINI’s small hatchback cars is the rear space. The rear door opens from the bottom and maneuvers to the roof. Unlike sedans, these small cars allow you to pile up your luggage to the top of the roof. The entire rear space can be used for your luggage, making it more spacious. MINI understands this point to perfection. Right from MINI hatch to John Cooper works, every model is crafted with efficacy to enable you to travel around with your family while carrying the required luggage along with you.
Another important feature of hatchback cars is the efficient and reliable performance. All models of small hatchback cars from MINI are engineered using cutting edge technologies so that they offer an enhanced performance. Especially, the John Copper Works model from MINI is designed to handle adverse conditions and still performs with agility. The innovative technology used in these cars makes them fuel efficient. In addition, the engine runs smoother and swifter.
Another important reason for the increasing popularity of small hatchback cars is their affordable price range. While they offer adequate space for a small family, the price range is affordable by most people. The MINI first comes with a price tag of £11870 and the MINI John Copper works falls at £28790. All other models of MINI hatchback cars fall within this price range.
Small hatchbacks cars are not only popular for their affordable price and economic maintenance. Today, every MINI hatchback car is designed with an incredibly magnificent style. These cars come in a variety of colors, styles and models to entice audience. The magnificence of MINI Copper car is a delight for drivers. The enticing style adds up to other features like the fuel economy, efficient performance and affordable price, making MINI hatchback cars an ultimate choice for every family.
Well, the MINI Paceman hasn’t really been spied upon, again, but rather MINI released a couple of pictures of it on the web. Partially covered, the 2013 Paceman Concept is essentially a Countryman coupe with a sloping roofline and a different tailgate.
The concept might be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September and according to MINI, the Paceman will be a “powerful and agile” vehicle.
The engine range will likely be the same as the Countryman’s, so petrol choices might include a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine with 120 HP – 90 KW and a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with both 181 HP – 135 KW and 215 HP – 160 KW outputs. More details will follow, but for now, all we can do is scroll through the images and hope for the best.
Watch out! Here comes the fastest model ever produced by MINI. Reportedly named the 2013 John Cooper Works GP Special Edition, this version has been a total mystery until today, in terms of performance and innovation.
Our ears have overheard a rumor that this particular model has completed the fabled German Nurburgring race track in a mere 8 minutes and 23 seconds – a whole 19 seconds faster than the previous John Cooper Works GP model – the bearer of a 1.6-liter engine that used to develop 210 HP and 244 Nm of torque.
It won’t be a surprise for the 2013 edition to be equipped with a similar engine, probably delivering a few dozen horse power more. The latest version boasts an upgraded adjustable sports suspension, a new, improved braking system, new aerodynamic parts and lightweight wheels covered in race tires.
The sad thing about the 2013 Mini John Cooper Works GP is that its production will be limited to 2,000 units. It will be available during later this year, while the pricing still needs confirmation.
The renowned tuners from AC Schnitzer impressed everyone with their newest upgrade package, not for a BMW, but for his little brother, a MINI Cooper Coupe that received several upgrades, both in terms of styling and performances as well.
First, the car received a new set of alloy wheels, Mi1 or Mi2 designs sized 17 or 18″, a pack of decals that make it a little sportier and several upgrades inside the cockpit such as velour floor mats, Aluminum pedals and so on. But the most important upgrades were made at the technical level with several new parts that replaced the ones from the car.
The car’s handling was improved a lot thanks to a height adjustable race suspension system with new springs, an aluminum strut brace on the front axtle and a special sway bar at the rear. The brakes were also replaced completely and this little car now features high performance brakes with 4 piston calipers and 328x28mm slotted brake discs.
Other major upgrades to the AC Schnitzer MINI Cooper Coupe were a new limited slip differential with a 0 to 75 percent locking rate and a sports exhaust system with a sound pipe, crossover pipe and a rear silencer with chromed tips. The engine of the car will also go through a couple of tweaks but more details about the engine kit will be released at a later date.
MINI has just unveiled the new MINI Roadster, which is basically a convertible version of the MINI Coupe and which is going to be the 6th model in their range right now. The new Roadster features a manually operated fabric roof and a couple of powerful engines combined with a complex chassis.
The car will be available in four versions, all with a 6 speed manual gearbox as standard: the Cooper Roadster with a 1.6L petrol engine with 122 hp and 160 Nm of torque, the Cooper S Roadster with a 1.6L turbocharged unit which is able to produce 184 HP and 240 Nm of torque, the Cooper SD Roaster with a 2.0L turbodiesel engine with 143 HP and 305 Nm of torque and the top-of-the-range MINI John Cooper Works Roadster with a 1.6L Turbo engine with 211 HP and 260 Nm of torque.
The price for this masterpiece hasn’t been announced yet but it will probably be pretty expensive since it’s uber cool and it’s a brand new model. I’ve always wanted a MINI but I guess I could go to some used car dealers in glasgow and maybe I could get an old MINI until I’m ready to make the big step to this beauty.
The main differences between the MINI Roadster and MINI Coupe are probably the missing rear seats, an increased luggage compartment with a capacity of 240 litres and a lowered ride by 20 mm. The new MINI Roadster will go on the market in the spring of 2012 in Europe.
The Italian tuners from Romeo Ferraris are back in our attention with their newest project: a modified MINI Countryman dubbed as the “150 Anniversario” to celebrate Italy’s 150th anniversary as a nation. The car is based on the flagship Countryman S Cooper powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine which is normally able to produce 184 hp and a maximum torque of 240 Nm.
But under the hood the Italian tuners worked their magic, installed a new intercooler, a sports air filter, a race-spec exhaust system and an ECU upgrade to increase the engine’s power to a total output of 227 hp and 328 Nm of torque. The car’s handling was also improved thanks to a new height adjustable suspension which brings the car closer to the ground and a high performance braking system from Brembo.
The exterior of the Romeo Ferraris MINI Countryman 150 Anniversario received a matte blue foil wrap and a silver hue for the twin twin stripes on the hood, rear hatch and on the roof as well. New tail pipes, a blacked out grille and a new set of two tone 19″ alloy wheels from OZ which match the new exterior look were also added to the car.
The interior of the car was also refined with a leather trim for the seats and door panels with contrasting blue stitching and by decorating the seats with the Italian flag.
