Nissan Extrem concept presented in Sao Paulo

October 23, 2012, By Alexander Eckhart

I don’t know what happened but I expected something more from the Nissan Extrem Concept. Unveiled at the Sao Paulo Motor Show, the vehicle has been designed to capture the “color and excitement of Brazil”. I don’t know about Nissan but, except for the paint, I don’t really see anything related to Brazil in this car.

The vehicle has a Solar Cortex exterior, LED lighting units, 19-inch alloy wheels and a center-mounted exhaust system. Furthermore, the vehicle measures 3850mm in length, 1765mm in width and 1530mm in height.

Under the bonnet, the vehicle is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine. There’s no word on the performance of this ride, but similar engines produce around 200HP. Nissan officials have added that the Extrem Concept could be offered with a choice of front or four-wheel drive.

Interior pictures haven’t been released yet, but Nissan says that the concept will boast a 4-seat arrangement and a spacious luggage space. Funny enough, the Extrem Concept has a removable cargo bin which hides items from curious bypassers. What is this supposed to mean Nissan?

There are no immediate plans for a production model, but Nissan says that the concept’s styling might be a heads-up on future models.
