After the first images with the 2011 BMW X5 facelift were leaked on the Internet BMW has released the first official details about the new version of the X5, the 2011 BMW X5 facelift. The new version of BMW’s popular SUV comes with several styling upgrades such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, new wheels, new headlights, different fog lights, new tail lights and additional body color accents.

The car’s interior received a new iDrive system with a 6.5″ display and new optional equipment such as a heated steering wheel, a panorama glass roof, active ventilated front seats, four-zone automatic climate and a DVD entertainment system.

The 2011 BMW X5 will feature a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six engine that produces 302 HP and 400 Nm of torque.  With this engine the new version of the X5 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 235 km/h. The new engine option was dubbed N55 and has a fuel consumption of 23 mpg and 236 g/km CO2 emissions.

The 2011 BMW X5 xDrive50i will be equipped with a twin turbo 4.4L V8 instead of a naturally aspired 4.8L V8. With this engine that delivers 402 HP and 400 Nm the xDrive50i does 5.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and it could reach a top speed limited to 250 km/h. Fuel consumption is 19 mpg and CO2 emissions are 292 g/km.

The diesel versions will be equipped with two turbocharged 3.0L inline six engines that produce 302 HP and 600 Nm for the xDrive40d and 241 HP and 540 Nm for the xDrive30d. These engines are more fuel efficient than the petrol engines with the xDrive40d having a fuel consumption of 31 mpg and the xDrive30d going for 32 mpg.

All engines will be connected to an eight speed automatic transmission and the new X5 will also come with new spring and damper settings and a new Servotronic steering system. The 2011 BMW X5 will be priced at 54,200 Euros.
