Last week we’ve seen a couple of long-awaited unveilings at the New York Auto Show and the new Range Rover Sport was one of them. After a long string of leaks and teasers, Land Rover has finally blown the cover on its “fastest, most agile and most responsive” model they ever made.
With design cues taken from the stylish Evoque, the 2014 Range Rover Sport features a more compact package that includes a raked windscreen and more pronounced wheel arches. Furthermore, the new Land Rover is 62mm longer than the outgoing version and 149mm shorter than the regular 2013 Range Rover. The wheelbase has also been increased by 178mm compared to its predecessor and the overall weight of the car has been reduced by 500 kg (1,102 lbs). (Take into consideration the fact that they compared the V6 version of the 2014 variant with the previous V8 diesel model).
Compared to the outgoing version, the interior of the 2014 Range Rover Sport doesn’t seem to showcase any significant changes except for the slightly lowered driving position, the optional head-up display and the wide variety of textures and colors, not to mention the eleven “themes” that the cockpit can be ordered in.
For the moment, Land Rover has prepared two engines (with stop/start technology) for the 2014 Range Rover Sport: A 3.0-liter SDV6 diesel engine that develops 288 HP – 215 kW and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that generates no less than 503 – 375 kW. The engine lineup will be increased by next year with a TDV6 diesel that outputs 254 HP – 189 kW, a 4.4-liter SDV8 with 334 HP – 249 kW and a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline unit that reminds us of the old 300 HP – 220 kW V8 diesel. Last but not least, the Range Rover Sport will also be available in a diesel-electric hybrid variant that has been described as being “highly innovative”. Regardless of the engine-chioce, the power goes to a permanent 4×4 system thanks to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the 2014 Range Rover Sport can be configured with either a single-speed transfer case with 42/58 percent torque distribution or a two-speed transfer case offering the regular high range and low range with a 50/50 torque split.
There’s no word on the performance numbers but the vehicle has a drag coefficient of only 0.34. This was made possible thanks to the installment of movable vanes in the cooling system, a smooth underfloor panel and near-flush glazing.
On the handling side, the vehicle showcases the 5th generation air spring suspension which borrows a lot of the components from the regular 2013 Range Rover. Nevertheless, it has been tweaked to provide better handling as opposed to the luxury setup of the regular Range Rover. It also packs a Dynamic setting for the Terrain Response system which makes the vehicle more agile on-road.
The vehicle is scheduled to hit the dealerships this September, with pricing somewhere between 59,995 GBP and 74,995 GBP for the aforementioned SDV6 variant. Notably, the vehicle will be a little more affordable next year when the base price will go down to about 51,550 GBP once the TDV6 version arrives. On the other hand, the range-topping 5.0-liter V8 Supercharged version will make you cough up 81,550 GBP from your bank accounts.

If you do not want to get stuck in traffic anymore then you should know that Smart has come with a very modern and interesting solution. They present the Forstars concept which is definitely very attractive and useful for those who want to move faster every day. This car has a modern video projector in the nostril but the most interesting part when it comes to it, is definitely represented by the giant outdoor speakers in the vents behind the doors.
If you shrink the wheels and if you strip away the concept tinsel, you are going to obtain the next Smart Car Fortwo. This incredible concept was unveiled at the Paris Show, in 2012 and it is a preview for a production car that is going to appear this year, in 2013.
The new car is going to replace the side speaker grilles with air intakes for its rear mounted engine. The engine is a new three cylinder one that Renault and Mercedes/ Smart created especially for this car. The concept was created with an 80bhp electric motor.
When it comes to the influence that Renault has on this car, the engine is not the only one that must be mentioned. This new car is going to use a platform that was developed by Mercedes and Renault. Smart is going to create a two seater in order to replace the Fortwo but both Smart and Renault are going to do longer four seaters too. As you can imagine we find this idea intriguing because it means that the next Renault Twingo and the next Smart Forfour are going to be rear engined.
Smart are definitely famous for their small and fast cars which are perfect for big cities with impossible traffic. If you want to find some better parking spaces and if you want to ensure that you are not going to need some amazing driving performances to move in traffic daily then this car is perfect for you. It is small, but extremely comfortable and easy to drive. This makes it the perfect car for a young man or even woman.
The price is a fair one for the features that this car offers and you can personalize it according to your preferences. Buying a car is a big deal and you should pay a lot of attention when you do that in order not to make any mistakes and to regret after a few months.
For all you classic-car lovers out there, Atelier Valdeig has revealed its latest project involving a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (W198). The vehicle received a wide body kit that makes it look a little more sporty.
The project was initially planned to be a replica of the well-known MErc, but in the end it was cancelled. However, the tuner saw potential in the project thus they continued their work on a new look for the 300 SL Roadster.
The vehicle showcases entirely new side panels, bigger wheels that fit perfectly under the wide fenders and a few other improvements like the large air outlets behind the front wheels and the white paint finish with grey accents. Furthermore, the original bulges over the wheel arches have been removed for a cleaner appearance.
The vehicle rides on a set of 16-inch Revolution alloys wrapped in white wall tires, but customers can opt for bigger wheels from Carlsson or wire wheels as seen on muscle cars.
Upon request, the ride can be equipped with the original upright headlamps but the tuner is also offering the round ones mounted on the Gullwing variant. Seen from the back, the 300 SL Roadster can display different types of taillights from the ones that are available, while the exhaust system can get side pipes.

Earlier this week, Vauxhall has announced a new VXR8 Tourer that is going to be made available in the United Kingdom. The vehicle is based on the Holden VE Commodore, and from the looks of it, the VXR8 means business.
Under the bonnet, the ride packs a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates no less than 431 HP – 317 kW. All that power goes to the rear axle thanks to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission while a multi-link rear suspension and a mechanical limited-slip differential are fitted as standard. This enables the vehicle to sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 5 seconds and also reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
On the styling side, the VXR8 Tourer showcases an aggressive front bumper with black accents and LED daytime running lights. The vehicle also features ventilated front fenders, a bi-modal exhaust system and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
The interior cabin has been equipped with leather seats, alloy pedals and an infotainment system with Bluetooth/iPod/USB/AUX connectivity. The trunk has a capacity of 895 liters (31.6 cubic feet) which can be increased to 2,000 liters (70.6 cubic feet) if the rear seats get folded down.
If the Vauxhall VXR8 Tourer sounds too good to be true, you should know that only £49,500 this ride also comes with a lifetime warranty.
Last week, the guys from Senner Tuning have blown the cover on their latest project involving a Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster.
The vehicle received a discreet makeover, the most notable modifications being the 20-inch Schmidt Revolution wheels wrapped in Hankook S1 Evo tires and the KW coilover suspension that brings the ride closer to the ground.
Under the bonnet, the 6.3-liter V8 engine received a couple of performance upgrades such as high-flow air filters and a sports exhaust system. This enables the power mill to churn out 606 HP – 446 kW and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque instead of the standard 571 HP, this being a 35 HP – 26 kW and 40 Nm (29 lb-ft) increase of power.
Unfortunately, the tuner hasn’t released detailed info about the vehicle’s performance but the modifications should prove enogh for the SLS AMG Roadsted to sprint from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds and reach a top speed of around 300 Km/h.

Hyundai has revealed a rather interesting concept car these past couple of days. Dubbed the HND-9 concept, the vehicle will be presented at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show on March 28.
If you’re thinking that the “HND-9″ name has a little Hyundai in there somewhere, you should probably know that it stands for Hyundai’s ninth concept created by the R&D Center in Namyang, Korea. The concept showcases a preview of the styling cues which will become a regular on the upcoming “next-generation luxury sports coupe” (aka Genesis Coupe).
On the styling side, the car looks pretty awesome featuring butterfly doors, huge dual tailpipes, a long hood with a wide hexagonal front grille and let’s not forget the “evil-looking” taillights as well as the huge alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, the car packs a 3.3-liter turbocharged GDi engine that generates no less than 370 HP – 272 kW, all of which go to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. As a reminder, the 2011 Kia GT Concept had a similar setup as the HND-9, the foremost having a peak torque of 534 Nm – (394 lb-ft).
Maybe the production version won’t receive too many changes because the concept could really be a huge hit.
After a short tease, DMC has presented their new Duro tuning package for the Bentley Continental GT. The tuner has described the ride to be a “mouth watering fashinista on four wheels” and we have to say that they’re not pushing they’re luck.
The Bentley was equipped with a carbon fiber body kit that includes new bumpers and side skirts, a rear wing, a carbon fiber diffuser and a set of 22-inch diamond-forged wheels wrapped in 295/25/22 tires.
Under the bonnet, the engine received a few performance upgrades like an optimized ECU, a titanium exhaust system and high-flow air filters. These changes help the W12 engine produce no less than 672 HP – 494 kW and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque instead of the standard 567 HP – 423 kW, and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). All this power goes to the wheels thanks to the standard 8-speed ZF transmission that helps the model accelerate from 0 to 100Km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph).
There are no pictures of the interior cabin but customers can opt for a bespoke cabin with premium leather upholstery and carbon fiber or exotic wood trim.
Finally, the first official images with the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG have popped up on the Internet. The vehicle is expected to make its public debut at the New York Auto Show so more info about it should follow later this week.
This is not the first time we’ve seen the new AMG as the vehicle was partially revealed last month when the PlayStation 4-exclusive game Driveclub was announced. Now, the vehicle appeared on screen wearing a muscular AMG body kit with a set of alloy wheels following in the same theme. Furthermore, the four-door coupe is expected to have a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that outputs no less than 360 HP – 265 kW and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. All that power goes to the wheels thanks to a seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox. The ride will probably get the 4MATIC all wheel drive system as featured on the CLS 63 AMG and on the E 63 AMG.
Notably, during the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz mentioned that the CLA 45 AMG is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds. Also, the vehicle is expected to have a starting price of 50,000 USD.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Renown Auto Style but lately the tuner has revealed a brand new wide body kit for the Mercedes-Benz SL (R230).
If you were wondering, when equipped with the aforementioned body kit, the ride is just about as wide as a Lamborghini Murcielago. Furthermore, a set of 21-inch Renown three-piece concave wheels is available upon request while the vehicle showcased in these pictures features R10S-C 20×10.5 front and 21×13.5 rear wheels.
Notably, all of the elements are manufactured in the United States except for the Mercedes-Benz original LED daytime running lights. The SL’s body panels are crafted from woven cloth FRP with an epoxy resin and have been vacuum-bagged for better strength/weight ratio.
The vehicle closely resembles an SL65 AMG Black Series both at the exterior and under the bonnet where, thanks to an ECU upgrade along with a few other upgraded internals courtesy of Raging Bull Performance, it now churns out more around 700 HP – 515 kW.
There’s no word on what happened behind those darkened windows n’or anything about what’s going to happen to one’s bank accounts after the purchase request has been filled in.

Great news for all you BMW M-model enthusiasts out there. According to the M division CEO, Dr. Friedrich Nitschke, the limited 2012 BMW 1-Series M Coupe will have a successor after all.
Rumors about the model first appeared in July last year and apparently the vehicle is on its way to receiving the green-light for production. Unfortunately, there’s not too much info about this range-topping 1-Series but it is believed that it will be based on the M135i. Furthermore, the car should make its public debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) but there’s no official confirmation for that.
Notably, Nitschke has mentioned that the M135i has been a very successful model so far even though it was never considered a pure M car. As a reminder, the vehicle features a straight 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter engine that generates no less than 320 HP – 235 kW and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft), enough to launch the hot hatch from 0 to 100Km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
