Rolls-Royce finally decided to release official details of its baby Rolls, the 200EX. The car’s name was inspired from the experimental prototypes that Rolls made before the was but this version is really modern and it’s going to compete with the Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

Rolls Royce announced that the 200EX which will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show is still going to be a concept but probably a lot of exterior and interior details will be used at the production model which will arrive in 2010. The alphanumeric moniker will be replaced with something more traditional.

The 200EX is based off the latest BMW 7 Series platform and measures 212.6 inches long, 83 inches wide, 61 inches tall and has a wheelbase of 129.7 inches. The car will have a new air suspension system and 20″ wheels with 7 spokes equipped with 255/45 tires on the front axle and 285/40 tires on the rear axle. Rolls announced that the car will be equipped with a new V12 but they haven’t revealed the engine details.

Inside the car everything will be luxurious: high dollar trinkets, frosted lamps, chrome door handles, violin key switchgear and an ergonomic roller ball controller to control the car’s systems. At the Geneva Motor Show next month the concept will be unveiled and probably later this year, at the Frankfurt Motor Show they will unveil the production version of the new 200EX.
