Roush & Shelby Mustang SR-71 for charity
Probably the most popular Mustang tuning specialists, Caroll Shelby and Jack Roush, joined forces to create a one off Ford Mustang named SR-71 that will be auctioned off for charity. This unique mustang was inspired from the Lockheed Martin SR-71 Blackbird and the S and R also stands for Shelby and Roush.
Under the hood, the Roush & Shelby Mustang SR-71 features a 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine with a 2.3L Whipple Twin Screw Supercharger and a Roush intake. The car tuners also installed a handling pack, a new exhaust from Ford Racing and a roll cage but … they haven’t released any performance figures of this special Mustang yet.
Outside, the car has a glass roof, a new set of wheels sized 19″ up front and 20″ in the rear, a matte grey finish and unique graphics. Inside, the car comes with Recaro race seats with signatures from Jack Roush and Caroll Shelby, a new steering wheel, an instrument cluster from Ford Racing, upgraded navigation, new floor mats and unique badging.
The Roush & Shelby Mustang SR-71 will be auctioned off on July 29th to support the Young Eagles program of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
If you like the Roush but can’t afford the pricetag there are aftermarket Roush Mustang parts to your base or GT.
