The Seat Ibiza Cupra is a supermini that is manufactured by the Spanish automaker, SEAT. The Cupra premiered in 1997 and the is a well-known model in the SEAT offerings for its high dynamism. The latest Cupra offers sporting-level capabilities in a road car that can be used on a day-to-day basis. The name Cupra is from the term Cup Racing, and is the SEAT brand’s sportiest supermini.
A coupé with three doors, this is a car that has a very powerful look with a face that features a broad grille some really strong air intakes. The wheels are a set of 17-inch alloys that are exclusive to this line. It has been said that an athlete’s muscles, with the strength and confidence that can be found in an athlete, inspired the design of the Cupra.
There is a new sports steering wheel for the Seat Ibiza Cupra. The dashboard instruments have also been inspired by racing and offer a clear view to the driver. The seats are also sports seats and are ergonomically designed with large side cushions that give excellent support.
A new and more powerful entertainment system can be found inside the Cupra. It also offers the SEAT portable system with a 5-inch touchscreen used to control the audio. Among the functions offered by the Portable System is Bluetooth hands-free, GPS navigation, and Bluetooth wireless streaming.
This is a supermini that has 180 hp at 6,200 rpm provided by its engine. The Cupra can go from zero to 100kph from a standing start in less than 7 seconds. It boasts a maximum speed of 228kph. It also has high fuel economy with its consumption on average being 5.9liters/100km. Carbon emissions are at 139g/km. This is one highly efficient model.
The Cupra weighs in at a total of 1184kg. It is made more agile by its new sports suspensions that make turning a breeze. There have also been improvements made to the axle set-up for a Cupra that has a gentle spring and additional comfort for the driver over long distances.
The Seat Ibiza Cupra has a lot of equipment to offer. The bi-xenon headlights that come with LED running lights for daytime and LED rear light and air conditioning come standard with it. The sports car-inspired look of this car can be seen in the large wheels, the seat, and steering wheel. This is one car that looks sports-ready but is just as ready for the real roads.
Expected to make its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the three-door Leon SC has made its way onto the Internet ahead of schedule. After a short tease, the Spanish automaker has published the first photos with the three-door version of the new Leon. Compared to the stock model, the SC variant has a shorter wheelbase and a 4.23-meter overall length. On the styling side, the vehicle showcases an aggressive design with a lowered roofline and a few other cues inspired by Seat’s IBE, IBL and IBX concepts.
Under the bonnet, the Leon SC features the same engine range as the five-door model, starting with the 1.2- liter unit to the 2.0-liter one, with output varying from 105 HP – 77 kW to 184 HP – 135 kW. Also taken from the standard version, the suspension has the same MacPherson struts up front and a torsion beam at the rear. The versions available with more than 150 HP – 110 kW feature a multi-link layout.
Notably, Seat officials have announced that the Leon lineup will feature an ST estate model by the end of this year, while in 2014 the more potent Cupra versions will be available for all three body styles.

After showcasing the concept version back in April, the Spanish auto brand has finally revealed the 2013 Ibiza CUPRA production version. SEAT released a first wave of info and photos of the Ibiza CUPRA which is scheduled to go on sale in the UK in January 2013 followed by the rest of Europe in February.
Under the bonnet, this hot supermini has a 1.4-liter TSI gasoline engine that pumps out 180 HP – 132 kW and 250 Nm of torque. All this power is sent to the wheels through a 7-speed DSG twin-clutch automatic transmission that helps the ride perform the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 228 km/h (142 mph). Also, the Ibiza CUPRA comes with a sound actuator installed in the exhaust system that provides a sportier soundtrack. Fuel consumption is rated at 47.9 mpg UK (39.8 mpg US or 5.8 liters / 100 km).
Compared to the standard car, the CUPRA’s ride height has been lowered and an optional AR Performance braking kit has been installed. Furthermore, the vehicle has been fitted with an XDS electronic differential lock that lowers the car’s tendency to understeer and also improves handling during fast corners. ESP with hill start assist is also part of the package, along with exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels.
Exterior design is basically the same as in the spy photos we’ve seen earlier this year, with LED headlights and taillights, along with black gloss side mirrors. The interior adopts a minimalistic look, with new sports steering wheel, shift paddles and sport seats that are available with optional two-color leather upholstery.
The base price on one of these babies is around 18,825 pounds or $30,200.
Finally we get to feast our eyes upon the new 2013 Seat Leon and what a sight it is. The styling was first seen at the Paris Motor Show, back in 2010 on a car called the IBE Coupe Concept. It was brilliant at the time and we can still see some minor influences even though the concept got molded into the production version. The new Leon has a new front and rear bumper, a pair of alloy wheels and a truck load of FR badging inside and out. The new LED headlights look pretty awesome and the same goes for the taillights and mirrors.
It sits on the same MQB platform as the new Volkswagen Golf and the new Audi A3 and maybe a similar engine line-up will be hidden under the bonnet. Rumor has it that Seat has a plug-in hybrid in the works ready for a 2014 launch. The bubble has burst and more details about the Leon will follow here shortly.
Following all the rumors and spy photos, the new Toledo has finally been unveiled. It looks strikingly familiar to the Toledo concept which debuted a while back at the Geneva Motor Show but we’ll keep that in mind later on. The all-new Seat Toedo will be launched in Spain and Portugal somewhere in November 2013 followed closely by the rest of Europe during the same year.
The folks back at Volkswagen made a rebadged version of the recently unveiled Skoda Rapid and stuck some “new” engines under the hood. Same thing happened with the Exeo a while back and nobody saw the Audi A4 resemblance, but that’s a whole different story.
The Toledo measures 4.48 meters long and it has a a wheelbase of 2.60 m. Under the hood, there will be a couple of Volkswagen engines from which the customers may choose. The smallest one will be the 1.2-liter TSI with an output of 75 HP, next we’ll have the 1.4-liter TSI that will be producing around 120 HP and last but not least we will be having the 1.6-liter TDI with an output of 105 HP. During 2013, SEAT will add a 90 HP TDI variant.
Unlike its predecessor which had a conventional boot lid, the new Toledo features a large wide-opening rear hatch. ( Guess it’s taken from the Skoda Superb ? ). The interior is cozy but … that’s about it.
Honestly I don’t like this “copy paste” thing that Wolkswagen has in mind with Seat. But that’s just me.
