The 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S Unveiled
Porsche is looking fancy these days. The German carmaker has recently unveiled the Turbo S variant of the second generation of Cayenne, which is expected to reach the UK and German dealer shops in January, with a starting price of around 152,000 euros.
The vehicle features minor exterior modifications with black high gloss accents on the headlamp and mirror housings, as well as a new set of 21-inch alloy wheels that are exclusive for this model. The interior has been fitted with top of the line leather upholstery and carbon fiber inserts.
Under the bonnet, the Turbo S boasts the same 4.8-liter V8 engine found in the Turbo version and also in the Panamera Turbo S. Porsche did a series of modifications to this engine and now the power unit outputs a staggering 550 HP – 410 kW and 749 Nm of torque. This is due to an increased turbocharger boost pressure, more free flowing inlet manifold and remapped electronics. The result is an improved 0 to 100km/h of just 4.2 seconds, while the top speed has been increased to 285Km/h. Furthermore, Porsche says that the 2013 Cayenne Turbo S is capable of returning 24.6 mpg UK (20.4 mpg US or 11.4 liters / 100 km), and CO2 emissions of 270 g/km.
The 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has the same chassis configuration as the Cayenne Turbo as well as the same air suspension, along with the carmaker’s active damping control with hydraulically-operated roll bars and a torque vectoring system. The vehicle also features an electronically-controlled rear differential lock.
