The Limited-edition Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary”
Mercedes-Benz is celebrating AMG’s 45th anniversary these days. To commemorate this special occasion the german carmaker has created the limited edition SLS AMG GT3 “45th Anniversary”, which according to the company, is aimed “at car collectors with a particular penchant for motor racing”.
With a price tag of around $580,000, the special edition SLS stands out from the other 49 racing versions of the SLS AMG that have been delivered to customers around the world. Built in only 5 units, the car will be assembled under the strict supervision of Bernd Schneider, the winner of five DTM titles as well as the 1995 FIA GT world championship. The AMG 6.3-liter V8 will come along with Mr. Schneider’s signature, alongside the engineer’s, on each of the five V8s.
The limited edition SLS AMG looks meaner than eve. The body kit and the alloy wheels are finished in a “design magno graphite” matte paint that reminds us of the SL 65 AMG that was showcased at the New York Auto Show last April. Furthermore, many of the car’s body parts, like the gullwing doors, the bonnet, mudguards, boot lid, rear wings, the front and the rear spoilers and rear diffuser have all been constructed out of carbon fiber.
Moreover, the beautiful SLS comes with a redesigned interior of a fully functional racing car. Added details such as the “design magno graphite” finish on the steel rollover cage and the matte carbon fiber finish trim on the dashboard and center console or the silver-painted six-point harnesses and steering wheel, contribute to the overall design of the car.
Future owners of this SLS AMG Limited Edition will also find a carbon fiber safety cell on the co-driver’s side, and a “1 of 5” inscription on the seats and center console. You can’t get more exclusive that this.
