Volkswagen presents the Touareg Edition X

October 8, 2012, By Alexander Eckhart

This month, Volkswagen celebrates a decade since the Touareg’s first appearance at the Paris Motor Show. To mark this special occasion, the German carmaker has prepared a special version of the Touareg by introducing the Edition X.
Named after the Roman numeral for ten, the special Touareg features numerous exclusive features that “will satisfy the even most demanding of expectations”. The Bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, a panoramic sunroof with silver anodised roof rails, Moonlight Blue Pearl Effect exterior paint and the 19-inch ‘Moab’ alloy wheels are just some of the new items on the list.  There’s also tinted windows, the ‘Chrome & Style’ designer pack, and special badging all around the car.

The interior has been fitted with exclusive Nappa leather upholstery in amber brown, ebony wood trim for the doors and instrument panel and illuminated door sill plates with ‘Touareg X’ lettering. The package also features colour-coordinated decorative stitching on the leather steering wheel, gear lever gaiter and fabric floor mats.

The special edition will be available with a variety of engines and German pricing starts at €61,025 for the V6 TDI BlueMotion.

The Touareg Edition X is available with a choice of five engine types including a hybrid version. The starting price is €61,025 for the V6 TDI BlueMotion Technology 204 HP -150 kW  with 8-speed automatic transmission.
